Timothy “Tim” Lee Bottje

Timothy “Tim” Lee Bottje, age 84 of Hesperia, passed away on Saturday, April 6, 2024, at Trinity Health Muskegon Hospital. He was born on January 26, 1940, in Grand Haven, MI, to the late Robert and Alberta (Smith) Bottje. Tim married Marcia Peric on January 18, 1963, in Grand Haven. She preceded him in death on October 28, 2023, after 60 years of marriage.

Tim graduated from High School and went on to proudly serve his country in the Army National Guard from 1962 to 1967. He worked as a truck driver and loader for Verplank Trucking for 36 years, and in 2004, he moved to Hesperia.

Tim was a long-time member of the American Legion Charles A. Conkin Post 28, lifetime member of the Grand Haven Eagles Aerie 925, and member of the Slovenian Club. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed being outdoors, hunting and fishing.

Tim will be remembered and missed by his two daughters, Carla (Garry) Spangler of Grand Haven and Tonya (Mark) Raggl of Fruitport; seven grandchildren: Timberly (Gabe) Force, JJ (Katie) Hershberger, Angela Spangler, Brittnie (Tony) Hugget, Brandi, Brooke, and Ian Raggl; several great-grandchildren; sister, Deborah (Jack) Krass; niece, Tracy Bytwerk; and nephew, Richie Siemion.

The Memorial Visitation for Tim will be held on Friday, April 12, 2024, from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m., at Klaassen Family Funeral Home.

Memorial Contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society of Michigan.
