Claudia R. (Mitchell) Casemier

Claudia R. Casemier, age 72 of Grand Haven, passed away Wednesday April 24, 2024, at Medi Lodge at the Shore. Claudia was born on October 6, 1951, in Grand Haven MI, the daughter of George and Eleanor (Kruizenga) Mitchell. Claudia graduated from Grand Haven High School and was employed for a long time at Wesco convenience store on Mercury Drive where she worked her way up to store manager. More recently, she was employed at Dollar General.

Claudia was a bit of an artist who had good painting skills, doing ceramics and spending time needlepointing and doing yarn work making Daisy blankets and Afghans. She loved spending time with her family who enjoyed her good cooking and baking skills. Claudia deeply cared for every living thing and rescued several dogs and cats over the years.

Claudia is survived by her two sons, Joshua (Bree) Casemier, Jason (Crystal) Casemier and their father Mark (Linda) Casemier; three grandchildren; Sydnee, Kennedy, and Logan Casemier; one great-grandchild, Sage Casemier; Brother-in-law, Bob Costello; and Many Aunts, Uncles, Nieces, and Nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, John; and sister, Pat Costello.

The family would like to thank the care team at Trinity Health St. Mary’s as well as the staff of Medi Lodge at the Shore for the wonderful care they provided.

The Memorial Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 1, 2024, at Klaassen Family Funeral Home.
