Sonny Frantz, age 76 of Grand Haven passed away Thursday, June 2, 2016 at home. Sonny was born August 8, 1939 to John and Gladys (Pauter) Frantz in White Cloud, MI. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy. Sonny married Virginia Connors on June 16, 1962. Virginia passed away in 2003. He worked for the White Cloud Public School District as a bus driver and in the maintenance department for 24 years, retiring in 1998. Sonny attended First Reformed Church, was a member of the Muskegon Shuffleboard Club and served as a volunteer firefighter for the White Cloud Fire Department. He enjoyed wood working, gardening and bike riding but his greatest joy came from fishing with his nephew, Ed, traveling with Joyce and spending their winters in Florida. Sonny is survived by his wife, Joyce Cosier; nephew, Edward (Sandra) Pawlowski of Newaygo and their children, Victoria, Elizabeth; Joyce’s children, Rick Turner of Muskegon, Misty Hoagland of Muskegon, Bryan Turner of Muskegon, Wendy Impens or Grand Rapids; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; sisters, Geneva Borgman of Fremont, Sharon (Dennis) Warner of Otsego; brothers, Albert Frantz of Coldwater, Jerry Frantz of White Cloud. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Virginia Frantz and sister, Betty Boeskool. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, June 8, 2016 at Crandell Funeral Home in Fremont with Pastor John Kenny officiating. Full Military Honors will be performed by the Newaygo V.F.W.
