Robert William Holzinger

Robert W. Holzinger, age 90 of Grand Haven passed away Thursday, December 8, 2016 at Heartwood Lodge. Bob was born December 31, 1925 to Frank and Betty (Hassenpflug) Holzinger in Grand Haven. He married Hildegard Schneider on May 21, 1948. She passed away on February 19, 1964. Bob married Betty Schultz on October 16, 1965. Betty preceded him in death on December 30, 2005. Bob proudly served his country in the U.S. Marine Corp at Iwo Jima during WWII. He was a member and trustee at St. John’s Lutheran Church. Bob was the parts department manager for 27 years at Miller Chevrolet. He enjoyed volunteering at Love Inc. and spending time in his garden. Bob is survived by his daughters, Barbara (Richard) Johnson, Becky (Doug) Rasche, Hilda (Jim) Albright; son, Bob (Robin) Holzinger; 11 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; sister, Dorothy Wolvolek; special friend, Rose Nadort. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Susan and brothers, Frank and Charles Holzinger. The funeral service for Bob will be 11am Thursday, December 15, 2016 at St. John’s Lutheran Church with Pastor Ronald Moritz officiating. Full Military Honors will be performed by the American Legion Charles A. Conklin Post #28. Interment will be in Grand Haven Township Lakeshore Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 - 4 and 6 - 8 pm on Wednesday, December 14, 2016 at Klaassen Family Funeral Home.
