Richard M. Kuhlman

Richard M. Kuhlman, age 87 of Grand Haven, passed away Sunday, February 7, 2016. Dick was born June 5, 1928 to Joseph and Ruth (Collard) Kuhlman in Detroit, MI. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Marines. Dick married Arlene Frietchen on April 2, 1948 in Grand Haven. Dick was an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoyed camping with his family. As a hobby, Dick enjoyed painting. In his leisure time he watched football, enjoyed riding his bike and was active on bowling leagues. He loved gardening, working in his yard and wintering in New Port Richey, FL.  Dick will be lovingly remembered by his wife Arlene of 68 years; daughters Linda (William) Cottrell of Grand Haven, Gayle (Jim) Strasser of Whitehall, MI, Brenda (Michael) Sanders of Lottsburg, VA; sons Donald (Wendy) Kuhlman and Peter Kuhlman both of Grand Haven; 11 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; sisters Shirley (Victor) Lichtenwald of Vassar, MI and Karen (Wayne) Ver Milya of Onaway, MI; brother, James (Connie) Kuhlman of Petoskey, MI. Dick was preceded in death by his brothers Bob, Joe and Tom Kuhlman and great grandchild Ethan Cottrell. A visitation for Dick will be 1:30-4:00 pm Saturday, May 7, 2016 at Hope Reformed Church 14932 Mercury Drive, Grand Haven, MI . Full Military Rites will be performed at 1:30 pm by the American Legion Charles A. Conklin Post #28. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of North Ottawa Community.
