Paul John Meyers

Paul John Meyers, age 82 of Grand Haven, died peacefully on Saturday, October 22, 2016 while listening to the reading of 1 Corinthians 15:20-26. Paul was born December 29, 1933 to Peter and Margaret (Boyink) Meyers in Muskegon. He married Janet Berkompas on October 11, 1962 in Rudyard, MI. Paul was a quiet man of deep faith. He served in the Army during the Korean War. Paul was a retired plumber and carpenter and enjoyed fishing and gardening. He was a member of First Christian Reformed Church where he served as an elder and deacon. Paul is survived by his wife of 54 years, Jan; daughters, Karen Meyers, Sue (Paul) Soper; son, Steve (Tonya) Meyers; grandchildren, Elizabeth, Lydia and Sam Soper, Anna and Megan Meyers; sisters, Doris (Richard) Beishuizen, Marilyn (Chris) Postma, Jean Talsma; brother and sisters-in-law, Ruth Berkompas, Jan Berkompas, Nancy Berkompas, George (Lois) Berkompas; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brothers and sisters-in-law, Ray and Flo Meyers, Jerry and Lawaine Meyers, Jerry Talsma. The Funeral Service for Paul will be held at 11 am on Thursday, October 27, 2016 at First Christian Reformed Church with Pastor Tom Pettinga officiating. Interment will be in Sunrise Cemetery.
