Patricia (King) Beach

Patricia Beach, age 88 of Grand Haven passed away Saturday, September 3, 2016 at Grand Pines Assisted Living. Patricia was born March 1, 1928 to Frederick and Fannie (Opal) King in Port Sheldon Township, MI. She married Harold Beach on June 1, 1946 in Grand Haven. He preceded her in death on March 20, 1962. Patricia worked for Grand Haven Public Schools as a bus driver, retiring in 1990 after 28 years of service.  She was a member of St. Patrick-St. Anthony Parish. Patricia was also a member of the F.O.E. #925 Eagles Auxiliary, the V.F.W. Auxiliary as well as the Gold Star Wives. She enjoyed crocheting and playing cards. Patricia is survived by her daughter, Cherri Ruffilo of Norton Shores; grandson Victor (Lizzette) Ruffilo of Chester, VA; great-grandchildren, Christian, Nicholas, Danielle and Gabrielle Ruffilo, Jodie Dowler; step-granddaughter, FlorAnn (Dan) Stout; step-great grandchildren, Michelle Sharpy, Erin (Jason) Zimmer; great-great grandchildren, Owen and Ava Sharpy, Hayden and Blair Zimmer; niece, Jane (Don) Nelson who assisted with Patricia’s care for the last few years. She was preceded in death by her son, Hal G. Beach; son-in-law, Phillip Ruffilo, 9 brothers and sisters. A Funeral Mass for Patricia will be 11:00 am Thursday, September 8, 2016 at St. Patrick-St. Anthony Parish with Fr. Chuck Schwartz officiating. Relatives and friends may meet with the family one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be in Lake Forest Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer’s Association.
