Marvin “Bud” Casemier, age 85 of Grand Haven passed away Thursday, April 14, 2016 in Grand Haven. Bud was born January 21, 1931 to Henry and Nan (Boomgaard) Casemier Sr. in Grand Haven. He married Marilyn Mouw on March 18, 1954 in Muskegon. She preceded him in death March 3, 2016. Bud proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy. He was a partner in Henry Casemier’s Super Market, following this he worked at GPM Industries/Great Lakes Spas in Holland. Bud was a member of Second Christian Reformed Church where he served as a deacon, elder and on the building committee. He was a member of Gideons International and also served on the Grand Haven Christian School Board and their building committee. Bud was a former member of the American Legion Charles A. Conklin Post #28 and AMBUCS. His greatest joy came from fishing, his woodwork and spending time with his family. Bud is survived by his daughters, Debra Little of Grand Rapids, Brenda (Steve) Donselar of Spring Lake, Nan (Mike) Urschalitz of Grand Rapids, Beth (Marty) DeWyn of Grand Haven, Dawn Casemier of Grand Haven; son, Brad (Lorie) Casemier of Kansas City, KS; 16 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; sister, Pat (Jerry) Wolffis of Byron Center; sister-in-laws, Barbara Casemier of Spring Lake, Marilyn Mouw of Byron Center; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his son-in-law, Lloyd Little; siblings, Marjorie Borst, Dorothy Boyink, Nina Klaassen, Ruth Rothi, Betty Bosscher, Priscilla Pedersen, Donald Casemier and Henry Casemier Jr. The funeral service will be held for Bud at 10:30 am on Monday, April 18, 2016 at Second Christian Reformed Church with Rev. Ed Tamminga and Pastor Duane Kelderman officiating. Full Military Honors will be provided by the V.F.W. Sergeant Alvin Jonker Post # 2326. Interment will be in Lake Forest Cemetery. Visitation will take place from 4 – 6 pm on Sunday, April 17, 2016 at Klaassen Family Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to Gideons International or Alzheimer’s Association.
