Marcia Ann Bruhn

Marcia Ann Bruhn, age 79, of Spring Lake passed away Friday, March 2, 2018. Marcia was born September 29, 1938 in Columbus, Ohio to the late Burt and Helen (Slayton) Ferris. She attended the University of Michigan before transferring to Michigan State University where she earned her Bachelor’s Degree. Marcia was a proud Spartan. She enjoyed attending Spartan football games and watching Spartan sporting events with her children.

Marcia’s career started at Reader’s Digest. She then spent many years working for North Ottawa Community Hospital, and retired from Ottawa County Circuit Court Records Department. Marcia was a long time member of St. Paul’s United Church of Christ, and very active in various women’s groups at her church. She enjoyed being a member of the Red Hat’s Society and helped to form a local chapter. She loved traveling with friends and family within the United States and throughout the world.

Marcia is survived by three sons, Casey (Sarah) Bruhn of Grand Haven, Chad (Tanya) Bruhn of Ellenton, Florida, and Calvin (Brandy) Bruhn of Grand Haven; 5 grandchildren, Nicholas, Lucas, Josie, Zachary and Joel Bruhn; and sister, Zona (Dick) Boss of Arizona.

A Funeral Service for Marcia will be held on Friday, March 9, 2018 at 6:30 PM at St. Paul’s United Church of Christ with Pastor Matt Schmidt officiating. The Visitation will include appetizers and refreshments and will be held one hour prior to the service at church from 5:30-6:30 PM. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul’s United Church of Christ. Marcia’s family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of American House in Spring Lake for their care and kindness throughout the last 5 years.
