Linda Lue Watters

Linda Lue Watters, age 70, of Grand Haven passed away at home on Tuesday, December 12, 2017. She was born May 17, 1947 in Cicero, Illinois to the late Albert & Lena (Slinkman) Hoekstra. Linda graduated from Grand Haven High School in 1965 and went on to get a Bachelor’s Degree from Baker College. She worked in Accounting at Gardner Denver and then at Herman Miller and she also served as a Nurse’s Aide earlier in life. Linda was a volunteer barmaid at the V.F.W. Sgt. Alvin Jonker Post 2326. She really enjoyed her flower gardens and loved to travel. Linda is survived by her daughters, Amy (Kurt) Stratton of Fruitport & Bertie Watters of Oregon; son, Steve (Pat) Watters of Sparta; 9 grandchildren, Kristine O’Brien, Samantha Genter, Steven Watters, Whitney Stratton, Courtney Lesko, Travis Watters and Sara & Marissa Swartz; 8 great-grandchildren, BrookeLynn, Chase, Draven, Chloe, Maddie, Lincoln, Elizabeth & Wyatt; special friend, Elmer Yell of Spring Lake; sisters, Bea Wallish, Kathy (Dale) DeYoung & Janet Cuddington, all of Grand Haven; brother, Albert (Joyce) Hoekstra of Muskegon and many nieces, nephews & cousins. She was preceded in death by one sister, Bertha Plantenga & one grandchild, Melissa Watters. A Funeral Service for Linda will be held at 11:00 am, Monday, December 18, 2017 at Klaassen Family Funeral Home with Pastor Randy Bremmer officiating. Visitation will be held from 1:00-3:00 p.m. & 6:00-8:00pm on Sunday, December 17th. Interment will be at Spring Lake Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Johnson Cancer Center of Muskegon or Hospice of North Ottawa Community.
