Kevin "Slim" VanDam

Kevin Charles VanDam, age 49, of Grand Haven passed away Wednesday, December 27, 2017. Kevin was born February 14, 1968 in Grand Rapids to Bernard and Charline (Osenga) VanDam. He married his teenage sweetheart, Kriste Barger, on August 23, 1997 in Allendale and she was everything to him. Kevin was employed as a truck driver for Blendon Cattle Trucking for 18 years. He really loved his trucking job and his C.B. handle was “Slim”. Kevin enjoyed hunting, fishing, and camping. He was mechanically inclined and loved to work on anything with his sons. Kevin is survived by his loving family; wife, Kriste; sons, Darrick and Dylan; sister, Debra Jennings; brother, Joe (Kelli) VanDam; and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, Beernard (Charline) VanDam; brother, Don VanDam; and brother-in-law, Bill Jennings. The Funeral Service for Kevin will be 2:00 pm, Tuesday, January 2, 2017 at Klaassen Family Funeral Home with Pastor John Kasper officiating. Interment will be at the Chapel Hill Cemetery in Grand Rapids. Friends may meet the family 1 hour prior to the service. Memorial contributions may be given to the Kevin VanDam Memorial Fund C/O Klaassen Family Funeral Home.
