Julian Wildrom, age 78 of Grand Haven went to be with his Lord Friday, September 23, 2016. He was born October 11, 1937, one of triplet sons, to Adrian and Lucille (Boot) Wildrom. Julian proudly served his country in the US Navy. He married Ruth Anne Buikema on April 14, 1961 in Grand Haven. Julian was a Supervisor for Michigan Gas Utilities retiring in 2002 after 42 years of service. He was a faithful member of First Reformed Church where he served as a Deacon, Elder, member of the choir, nursing home services and Stephen Ministry. Julian volunteered for Love, INC, loved to hunt, fish, collect antique bottles and fishing lures. He enjoyed all variety of sports, but most of all he loved spending time with his family. His unwavering, strong faith, positive and joyous attitude, will surely be missed by his loving family and all who knew him. Julian is survived by his wife, Ruth Anne; daughters, Julie (Michael) Schmeltzer of Grand Haven, Pam (Mike) Doan of Zeeland; sons, David (Chris) Wildrom of Grand Haven, James (Christine) Wildrom of Grand Haven; grandchildren, Allie (Ben) Visser, Joy Schmeltzer, Caleb Schmeltzer, Nicole Doan, Anika Doan, Naomi Wildrom, Noelle Wildrom, Britney (James) Bothwell, Brandy Vanderstelt, Morgan Wildrom; 3 great-grandchildren; mother-in-law, Ruth Buikema; sisters, Delores Plough, Shirley Crowe; brother, Joel C. (Andrea) Wildrom; in-laws, Marilyn Wildrom, Mary Lou (Ken) DeVries, John (Marilyn) Buikema, Joyce (Larry) Goldman, Mark (Patti) Buikema; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brother, Jerry A Wildrom. A service celebrating the life and home going of Julian will be 3:00 pm Sunday, October 2, 2016 at First Reformed Church with Pastor John Kenny officiating. Interment will be in Lake Forest Cemetery. All family and friends are invited to join the family for a reception in the church fellowship hall immediately following the service.
