Jon Edward Graska

Jon Edward Graska, age 71 of Grand Haven passed away Monday, November 28, 2016 at Heartwood Lodge. Jon was born July 9, 1945 to William and Agnes (Tysman) Graska in Grand Haven. Jon married Darlene Williams on October 15, 1966 in Grand Haven. He was an active member of the United Methodist Church of the Dunes where he was awarded the United Methodist Church Torch Award for Youth Service. Jon was an active member of the Boy Scouts of America for six decades and during that time he was awarded the Silver Beaver and Silver Antelope awards and was past president of the Gerald R. Ford Council. He was the news director for WKBZ in Muskegon and also worked for WMUS Broadcasting. For the past 30 years Jon was the quality manager for Atcoflex Inc.. His passions included refereeing high school football for 25 years and participating in all his grandchildren’s activities. Jon is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Darlene; son and daughter-in-law, Jon and Christina Graska of Cincinnati, OH; grandchildren, Caitlin, Erin and Patrick; brother and sister-in-law, Jerry and Shirley Williams of Grand Haven, brother-in-law, Terry Westedt of Grand Haven; many nieces, nephews and cousins and special friends William and Mueril Tuggle. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Sally Brosseit, brother-in-law, Herb Brosseit, sister-in-law, Donna Westedt. The funeral service for Jon will be 11:00 am Friday, December 2, 2016 at United Methodist Church of the Dunes with Pastor Glenn Wagner officiating. Interment will be in Grand Haven Township Historic Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet with the family 6:00-8:00 pm Thursday, December 1, 2016 at Klaassen Family Funeral Home.
