Jeanette Marion (Theisen) Murphy

Jeanette Marion Murphy, age 92 of Grand Haven, formerly of Allen Park, MI, passed away Saturday, July 16, 2016 in the presence of her loving family. Jeanette was born March 31, 1924 to Michael and Matilda (Hellner) Theisen in Dearborn, MI. Jeanette married James V. Murphy on April 23, 1949 in Detroit. James passed away January 16, 1999. She attended St. Patrick-St. Anthony Parish in Grand Haven and was a longtime member of St. Frances Cabrini in Allen Park where she was a member of the Alter Society. While living in Detroit, Jeanette worked for Winkelman’s and W.C. Grant. She was very artistic and loved building model boats and lighthouses. Jeanette was always willing to lend a helping hand.  She is survived by her daughters, Kathy (Paul) Lytle of Spring Lake, Marilyn (Phil) Geyer of Ann Arbor; son, Jim (Sue) Murphy of Spring Lake; 14 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; sister, Shirley Suchner of South Lyon. Jeanette was preceded in death by her husband, James and two sisters, Dorothy and Geraldine. The Funeral Mass for Jeanette will be held at 12:00 noon on Wednesday, July 20, 2016 at St. Frances Cabrini Church in Allen Park, MI. Interment will be in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet the family one hour prior to the service at the church.
