Jim has been our neighbor since we bought our house in 2013. He was so friendly and made us feel so welcome! Whenever we were outside working in our yards he would yell over with something funny to say to make us laugh...or would take a few minutes to talk about how things were going, life growing up in Grand Haven, or his family (one day smiling while pointing out his grandkids had planted two huge blue spruce trees from tiny saplings). In the short time we knew him, we could sense he was a man of strength and wisdom, even in his eighties. We were comforted seeing the glow of his television at night, and knowing he was there. We were saddened to find out today of his passing, and wish his family and friends our deepest sympathy. May his soul rest in peace. We feel lucky to have gotten to know him, and he will be surely missed!
