James Frederick Brewer

 James Frederick Brewer passed away peacefully Friday, December 1, 2017. He was born on February 10, 1951 in Saginaw, Michigan to William David and Minnie Lou (St. Charles) Brewer. Jim was a decorated Marine who earned a mechanical engineering degree and heroically served his country on the front lines of the Vietnam War (1967-1970). He returned home and married his soul-mate, Terry Barnes, on July 22, 1972. Jim provided a wonderful life for his family as an owner/operator of an auto service center. He enjoyed fishing, cooking, golfing, and most of all, his family. He was there to help anyone, with anything, at any time, and he could do it all. A port in the storm for so many. He is survived by his wife, Terry; his daughter, Jennifer; his son, James (Jilliane) Brewer; grandsons, Logan and Gage Brewer; sisters, Diane (Mark) Merchant, Carol (Tom) Novak, Janet Brewer and Colleen Brewer; brother, William Brewer; in-laws, Tammy (Rick) Jaime, Sabrina (Mike) Shafer, Tina Barnes and Albert (Jamras) Barnes. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Don Brewer. A graveside service will take place at Fort Custer National Cemetery Monday, December 11, at 2 p.m. A viewing will be held Monday, December 11, from 10-11 a.m. at Klaassen Family Funeral Home in Grand Haven, Michigan.
