Herman J Zinnen

Mr. Herman J. Zinnen, age 87 of Grand Haven passed away Friday, December 29, 2017. Herman was born August 6, 1930 in Chicago, IL to the late Herman L. and Jeannette (Kellen) Zinnen. He married the former Albertha VanderSchaaf on February 6, 1954 in Chicago, Illinois. She passed away September 3, 2007. Herman was employed at General Electric and Lear Siegler, retiring in 1991. He was a member of Second Christian Reformed Church and volunteered at Bubbles & Blessings at Love in Action. Herman was an avid White Sox fan, he played softball for many years and he loved golfing and bowling. Herman is survived by his loving family; Janet Zinnen of Lynwood, Illinois, Linda (Gregory) Tasker of Grand Rapids; and Herman Zinnen of Hartford, Wisconsin. Also surviving are 4 grandchildren, Greg (Erin) Vanderstel, Sarah, Rachel & Hannah Tasker; 1 great grandchild, Dalton Vanderstel; in-laws, Mary Van Hof of West Olive and Charles (Ginnie) VanderSchaaf of Ferrysburg. The Funeral Service for Herman will be 10:30 am, Tuesday, January 2, 2017 at Klaassen Family Funeral Home with Pastor Laura de Jonge officiating. Interment will be in Grand Haven Township Lakeshore Cemetery. Friends may meet the family 1 hour prior to the service. Memorial contributions may be given to Love in Action.
