Evelyn (Broersma) Wiebenga

Evelyn Wiebenga, age 86 of Grand Haven passed away Tuesday, April 5, 2016 in New Port Richey, FL. Evelyn was born January 28, 1930 to the late Jacob and Jennie (Ploughman) Broersma in Muskegon. She married William R. Wiebenga Sr. on June 24, 1948 in Grand Haven. William passed away on February 20, 2011. Evelyn was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church where she volunteered with the Ladies Auxiliary and was a Sunday school teacher. She was a former teacher’s aide and worked at the Glove Factory as well as a telephone operator at Michigan Bell, a cashier at Meijer and a receptionist at Dake Corporation.  Evelyn especially loved the time she spent with her friends and family. She will be lovingly remembered by her daughters, Linda (Terry) Westra of Frankfort, MI, Susan (Victor) Cave of New Port Richey, FL; son, William (Julie) Wiebenga Jr. of Muskegon; grandchildren, Charissa Armon, William (Valaria) Wiebenga III, Kacey (Wiebenga) Ramones (John David), Kelly Cave; great grandchildren, Mia Wiebenga, and William Wiebenga IV.  Special loved ones: Judy Styburski (niece), David Bultema (nephew), James Bultema (nephew), Judy (Abraham) Beverly (niece), and Krista Panozzo. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, William Wiebenga, Sr., brothers, Robert and Howard Broersma, and her sister Helen (Broersma) Bultema. The Funeral service for Evelyn will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, June 27, 2016 at St. John’s Lutheran Church.  Interment will be in Lake Forest Cemetery. Visitation will take place one hour prior to the service at the church.
