Diane Kaye Chittenden, age 64 of Nunica, passed away on Sunday, October 2, 2016 at home. Diane was born July 27, 1952 to James and Ruby (Elston) Slootmaker in Grand Haven. She went to Grand Haven Christian School and then graduated from Grand Haven High School. Diane and David Chittenden have been together for more than 42 years. In her younger years, she spent her time outdoors riding dirt bikes and quad runners. She traveled with David to the Mid Michigan Motorplex, the dragstrip in Norwolk, OH and Thunderbird Raceway and spent many hours cleaning the cars.  Diane enjoyed spending her time cleaning houses. She loved going deer hunting with David even though she didn’t hunt. Her greatest joy came from spending time with her grandchildren. Diane will be lovingly remembered by her husband, David; sons, John (Stephanie) Vandermolen and James Vandermolen both of Grand Haven; grandchildren, Kendra, Kaleigh, John, James, Jesse, Jagger; brothers, Michael (Karen) Slootmaker of Fort Collins, CO, James Slootmaker of Muskegon; brother-in-law, Doug (Mary) Chittenden; sister-in-law, Donna Chittenden and several nieces and nephews. Friends may meet the family from 5 – 7 pm on Friday, October 7, 2016 at Klaassen Family Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
