David L. Robinson

David L. Robinson, age 71 of Grand Haven, went to be with his Lord, Friday, July 3, 2015 at Spectrum Health Butterworth in Grand Rapids. Dave was born September 30, 1943 to Donald and Charlotte (Slaughter) Robinson in Lansing, Michigan. He married Sue Kool on August 13, 1965 in Grand Haven. Dave worked for Quality Pattern in Grand Haven and Master Pattern in Norton Shores as a master pattern maker prior to working for Paragon Manufacturing in Muskegon where he retired in 2007. Dave was a member of Central Assembly of God in Muskegon, Michigan. He was a kind and compassionate man, always helping others and a believer in the importance of paying it forward. His knowledge of the word of God was reflected by the way he lived, ministering to those at a correctional facility in Muskegon. Dave was a history buff, known as a Civil War Historian and the Robinson family genealogist. As an artisan craftsman he created ships in a bottle, carved wooden birds and his home was a showcase of his craftsmanship. He will be deeply missed by his wife, Sue; daughters, Shelley Robinson-Greeves, Melissa Robinson; sons, Christopher (Michelle) Robinson, Jeremy Robinson; grandchildren, Wyatt, Alex, Logan, Riley, Ian, Chase and Stella; brother, Richard Robinson; sisters-in-law, June (Don) Weesies, Madge Jerovsek, Mary (Edgar) Hall, Cherri (Tom) Duer; brothers-in-law, Jerry Kool, John (Sharon) Kool, Tom Kool, Dave (Bev) Kool, several nieces, nephews and cousins. Dave was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Jimmy Lee; grandson, Sloan Thompson and in-laws, Shirley Robinson, John Jerovsek, Judy Kool and Karen Kool. The funeral service for Dave will be 10:30 am, Thursday, July 9, 2015 at Central Assembly of God 896 Home St. Muskegon, MI 49442 with Pastor Wally Reames III officiating. Interment will be in Lake Forest Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet with the family 4:00-8:00 pm Wednesday, July 8, 2015 at Klaassen Family Funeral Home.
