Corrine (Schripsema) Alderink

Corrine Alderink, 89, of Spring Lake passed away on Friday, July 24, 2015 at Chestnut Fields Retirement Community. She was born on February 25, 1926 to the late Henry and Tina (Heemstra) Schripsema in Grand Rapids, MI. Corrine married Joseph Alderink on September 1, 1948 in Grand Rapids. Joseph preceded her in death on October 6, 2011. She attended Trinity Christian Reformed Church in Fremont, MI as well as many others over the years with her husband.  She enjoyed playing the organ and piano in several of those churches. Corrine volunteered for The Salvation Army for 20 years and was also a member of the Poetry Society of Michigan and Tuesday Musicale of Grand Haven. She enjoyed reading, sewing, creative writing, flower gardening and anything to do with art. Corrine especially loved spending time with her family. She is survived by her loving family, daughters: Patricia (John) Pell of Fremont, MI, Nancy Benton of Grand Rapids, Diane (James) Cherry of Detroit, Joan (Steven) Huber of Savoy, IL; 13 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; sister, Jeannette Koert of Spring Lake; sisters-in-law, Marge Prose of Grand Rapids, Frances Schripsema of Grand Rapids, Janice Stewart, and Gerry Aldering; brother, Gerald (Sherlene) Schripsema of Grand Rapids; brother-in-law, Benjamin Alderink of Pittsburgh, PA. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Henry (Anne) Schripsema and Herm Schripsema. The funeral service will be held at 12:00 noon on Wednesday, July 29 at Klaassen Family Funeral Home with Rev. Ron Baker officiating. Interment will be in Grand Haven Township Lakeshore Cemetery. Friends and relatives may greet the family 2 hours prior to the service at the funeral home.
