I just learned of Cork's death and want to extend my sympathies. I can still Cork and my dad sailing on the lake they both loved! I visited Cork and Phyllis last summer, and we talked about the old days on the lake.

I grew up with Phyl. She was like a sister to me. I was truly saddened to hear of Corkys' passing. I talked to both of them on Dec. 1, Phyls' birthday. My thoughts and prayers are with Phyl and the family.

So sorry for your loss. Hello to the family. It has been many years, but I have fond memories. Occasionally I still go down Alden - just to remember all the great people who used to live on that street. Condolences from my dad, Robert (Bob) Cornell (almost 96). My mom died 2 years ago. Did you know Bonnie Hawkins (98) died in July? The saints go marching in!

I worked with Mr. Beukema at the Highway Dept. in Lansing right after graduation...(1967) nicest boss ever ....always smiling .....then to run into him in Grand Haven years later ....what a nice surprise...we both laughed at the "work" memories and how blessed we were to live in Grand Haven now.....blessings and heartfelt sympathy...Betty (Arthur) Pierce

Mr B., thank you for treating me like your daughter and allowing Pekoe to climb your cottage walls. Memories of my college years with you seem like yesterday and still strong. Stu and I still jitterbug "your way" today.
Love, Chriss

Thank you for your condolences. One of my sisters and I are unable to attend the service either. We are in the midst of a blizzard. And this is the time of year when folks should stay close to family, if at all possible! Thank you again.

Uncle Cork, we'll miss seeing you whenever we come to Michigan. Often you were a father figure to me. I recall your using your skills as a Michigan DOT bridge engineer to make a wooden bridge that I played in the sand with at the cottage during 1950s summers. Again, we miss you. Kice & Barb.

Sending my condolences and hugs to you during this difficult time. I remember Cork's smile and endearing personality. Although it's been years since I've seen the two of you, I think of you both as a model for kindness and generosity!

Corky was our first ballroom dance teacher. He instilled a love of dance in us that has become a life long passion. We will always remember him for that.

Thank you for your condolences. I was an impatient daughter, and only lasted one or two of dad's dance lessons....but now I am married and dancing every week. Not with the grace of dad, but his influence is there!
