Anthony "Tony" Marecek

Anthony “Tony” Marecek, age 100, of Robinson Township, passed away on Saturday, December 9, 2017.  He was born on November 20, 1917 in Timpas, Colorado to John and Agnes (Kerek) Marecek. Tony worked nights at Dake Corporation so he could work days on the farm. He retired from Bastian Blessing after serving more than 20 years.He enjoyed farming on his land in Robinson Township, and spending time with his sister and brother in law.  He loved to talk about farming, and was often seen around Robinson Township on his four- wheeler or bicycle, talking to both the young and the old.   Tony also enjoyed hunting the land and would often go out fishing with his brother-in-law, Jack.  Tony loved to travel and spent the winter months in Parker Arizona.  Later in life he was known to spend some time at the casinos. He is survived by his loving sister, Betty Feldt of West Olive. He was preceded in death by his parents and his older sister Mae Buron. Cremation has taken place and a graveside service will take place at Lake Forest Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made Hospice of North Ottawa Community.
