Walter “Bob” Wayne, age 78, of Norton Shores passed away on Tuesday, July 3, 2012 at Mercy Hospital. He was born to the late Walter V. and LaVerne (Duda) Wayne on July 29, 1933 in Chicago, IL. Bob was a veteran in U.S. Army, serving in the Korean War. On October 5, 1992, Bob married the former Janice Boness in Baldwin, MI. He was a woodworker at Trendway until he retired in 1996. After his retirement Bob worked for the last 10 years at the Wal-Mart in Muskegon. Bob was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Charles A. Conklin American Legion Post #28, and the Eagles in Grand Haven. He is survived by his loving wife, Janice; children: Kerry (Diane) Bartrand of Wyoming, MI; Kimberly (Craig) Maly of Farmington Hills, MI, Kathy Compton of Grand Rapids, Kristen (Bob) White of Kenosha, WI, Kimberlee (Jerry) Bour of Grand Rapids, MI, Dawn (Billie) Simmons of Leesbug, FL, and Robin (Tony) Cook of Fruitport, MI; 16 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; sister, Arlene Lawrence of Grand Haven; and brother, Jim Wayne of Grand Haven. Bob was preceded in death by his first wife, Marilyn J. Wayne. The service for Bob will be at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, July 7, 2012 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Grand Haven with Father William Langlois and Father Bart officiating. Full Military Rites will be performed by the Charles A. Conklin American Legion Post #28. Interment will be at Lake Forest Cemetery. Family will greet friends and relatives from 5-8 p.m. on Friday, July 6, 2012 at Klaassen Family Funeral Home. Scripture Service with be held at 7:30 p.m. Memorial Contributions may be given to the American Heart Association.
